God is Deeply in Love with Us!
Cling to Jesus. There are God, the soul, eternity; the rest is nothing.
- St. Josepha Rossello
The word cling jumped out at me today. St Josepha doesn’t say walk with Jesus or look to Jesus, he says cling to Jesus. Cling means hold on tightly to; St. Josepha tells us in very few words who matters—Jesus matters—and the rest is nothing.
Why is it so hard to live like that? Why is it so hard to make Jesus our priority? I don’t know about you, but there are many days where I put lots of things and people ahead of my relationship with Jesus. When I get to the end of those days, I am not proud of how the day went. I lacked patience, I wasted time, I didn’t love in the simple ways.
Let us try really hard to start each day thanking Jesus for the gift of life; let us turn to Jesus in every single minute and cling to His grace and love for us; let us remember today and every day that “there are God, the soul, and eternity; the rest is nothing.”
“I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me, you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)
Jesus, I trust in you.
