God is Deeply in Love with Us!
Our Lord sends the crosses; we do not have to invent them.- St. Pio of Pietrelcina
This quote feels a little like a two by four to the side of the head today, doesn’t it? Such truth in St. Pio’s words. I think he is reminding us to deal with what is right in front of us, not what happened five minutes ago and not what might happen five minutes from now. In other words, he is telling us not to worry! That is easier said than done in these days of a global health crisis which seems to invade every aspect of life. Yet that is what we are called to do.
Let us remind ourselves that God holds all our moments. God knows what we need. God gives us what we need whether we ask for it or not. God wants our good. God wants our joy. God wants our whole heart!
If there is a piece of your heart that you are holding back, today is the day to tell God to take that piece. How many times in our lives have we heard, ‘Let go and let God?’ Today is the day to let go of one thing, just one small thing, that will make room for more of Jesus in us; that we may surrender to God’s love today is my prayer for each of us. May God love and keep you in this moment and in the surrendering. Amen.
Jesus, I trust in you.
